Over the winter break, I will be traveling to Thailand, Cambodia, and the Philippines. Every once in a while I'll check in and let you know where I am and if I'm learning anything interesting... I may even have some pictures to share! Have a great winter break, everyone!
Wed, Jan 20th - Bangkok, Thailand
I have been in Bangkok for a few days now. I am definitely enjoying the weather - about 30 degrees Celsius every day! Lots of fresh fruit and juice to enjoy, which really helps to beat the heat. I've seen a lot of Buddhist temples, a lot of tuk-tuks, and a lot of stray cats and dogs. The people here are quite friendly. I've decided not to go to Cambodia, so where to next? Who knows?
Wed, Feb 10th - Boracay, Philippines
In the last few weeks I have been journeying throughout Thailand and the Philippines, and it's finally time for some rest and relaxation at the beach on Boracay Island! While in Thailand I visited Krabi Town, Railay Beach and Ko Pha Ngan before heading back to Bangkok. I saw a lot of monkeys and even an elephant walking down the street! I spent a little time in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, before I finally came here to Bangkok, and I can definitely see the Spanish influence in this country. The people are very friendly and they always call me "ma'am"!
Only a week and a half before I come back to Dalian! I have had a wonderful vacation and am looking forward to starting back at school again on the 22nd.
